IMPORTANT: REGISTER BEFORE SUBMITTING

Abstract submissions are open to registered presenters.

Before submitting an abstract, register for the symposium and purchase the presenter ticket that corresponds to your preferred format: poster, workshop, or keynote.

Purchasing a presenter ticket makes you eligible to submit an abstract. It does not guarantee acceptance; every abstract will be reviewed.

WHO SHOULD SUBMIT?

A meeting place for evidence and practice.

We invite researchers, educators, school leaders, teacher educators, students, and innovators from every educational context and career stage.

Your contribution might report empirical findings, examine a question arising from practice, evaluate an intervention, introduce a promising model, or reflect critically on how evidence is used in learning and teaching.

Interdisciplinary, international, and collaborative submissions are especially welcome.

PRESENTATION FORMATS

Choose the format that serves your idea.

Select your preferred format when submitting. The review team may suggest another format to create the strongest possible program.

Poster

Present a focused project or study in a visual format and discuss it directly with participants. A strong choice for emerging work, concise findings, and conversations that benefit from one-to-one exchange.

Workshop

Lead an active session in which participants explore a method, tool, framework, or challenge together. Proposals should explain what participants will do and what they will take away.

Keynote

Propose a compelling large-audience talk that brings clarity, perspective, and relevance to a major question in the science of learning. Keynote proposals should speak across professional and disciplinary boundaries.

Tell us what matters—and why.

Write for an interdisciplinary audience. Use clear language, explain specialist terms, and make the relevance of your contribution easy to understand.

Please be ready to provide

  • Your presenter registration code from the order confirmation
  • A clear, descriptive title
  • The names, affiliations, and contact details of all contributors
  • Your preferred presentation format
  • The question, need, or challenge your work addresses
  • Your approach, evidence, or basis for the contribution
  • The key finding, insight, or intended participant outcome
  • The relevance to learning, teaching, or educational development
  • Any accessibility or technical requirements

REVIEW AND SELECTION

What the review team will look for.

Relevance
Your contribution addresses a meaningful question about learning or education.

Clarity
The purpose, approach, and main message are easy to understand.

Quality
Claims are supported by appropriate evidence, experience, or a clearly explained rationale.

Value to participants
The session offers a useful insight, dialogue, method, or perspective for the symposium community.

All submitters will be informed of the review decision. Presenter registration is required before submission, and purchasing a presenter ticket does not guarantee that an abstract will be accepted.

Accepted abstracts will be published in the Science of Learning Symposium Magazine, creating a lasting record of the ideas, research, and educational practice shared at the symposium—and helping your work reach readers beyond the event itself.

    Abstract

    Describe the context and the central question, need, or challenge behind your work. Explain why it is important and who or what it affects.

    Explain how the work was carried out or developed. This may include research methods and data, experience from practice, a theoretical framework, an intervention, or another clearly described source of evidence.

    Summarise the most important result, insight, argument, or lesson. For a workshop, describe what participants will explore, practise, create, or be able to apply afterwards.

    Show how your contribution connects to the science of learning and why it will matter to the symposium audience. Where possible, indicate how the ideas could inform research, practice, policy, leadership, or future collaboration.
